IMPORTANT DATES

The International Symposium on Bioresources and Biorefinery (ISBB) will be held in Hong Kong SAR from November 27 to 29, 2026. ISBB aims to offer an international forum for academic and industrial researchers to exchange recent advances and foster collaborations in biorefinery and bioproducts. All participants are encouraged to follow this page for updates on the symposium.

• May 1, 2026: Abstract online submission begins.

• July 1, 2026: Early bird registration begins, hotel online booking starts.

• September 1, 2026: Abstract online submission deadline.

• October 1, 2026: DRAFT Technical Program online is published.

• October 10, 2026: Acceptance begins to be sent out.

• October 31, 2026: Early bird registration ends.

• November 15, 2026: Latest date of registration to ensure abstract to be included in program (the presenting author must register for the conference).

• November 20, 2026: FINAL Technical Program online is published.

• November 27 to 29, 2026: Formal conference program occurs.

LATEST UPDATES

Call for Sponsors for the ISBB 2026 Conference:

• HK$ 50,000 or above (Gold Sponsor): Banner with the company/organization name and logo, name/logo on the Conference website, and one page introduction of the organization on the Conference Program booklet.
• HK$30,000 - 50,000 (Silver Sponsor): Name/logo on the Conference website and 0.5 page introduction of the organization on the Conference Program booklet.
• HK$10,000 - 30,000 (Bronze Sponsor): Name/logo on the Conference website and a paragraph introduction of the organization in the Conference Program booklet.
Gold/Silver sponsors will also be offered complimentary registration for two persons to attend the conference or to give an exhibition if preferred, free of charge."

Dear Colleagues, Friends and Students:

 

The International Symposium on Bioresources and Biorefinery - 2026 (ISBB 2026, HONG KONG, November 27-29, 2026) aims to offer an international forum for academic and industrial researchers to exchange recent advances and foster collaborations in biorefinery and bioproducts, i.e., conversion of  bioresources into high-value bioproducts, e.g., green hydrogen/methane, liquid biofuels (green gasoline/diesel for vehicles, marine biofuels, sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs)), green chemicals, biobased polymer/composite materials and bio-carbon materials.

 

The ISBB 2026 Conference expects to bring together more than 200 academic and industrial researchers from HK, mainland and multiple countries around the world. The Conference will encompass multi-sessions and themes: (1) Plenary Session (PS) on the recent advances in biorefinery and bioproducts, (2) Bio and Molecular Catalysis (BMC), (3) Thermal and Catalytic Conversions (TCC), (4) Electro/Photo-Catalytic Conversions (EPCC), (5) Biomass Pretreatment and Characterization (BPC), (6) Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF), (7) Biomass Metallurgy Session (BMS), (8) Hydrothermal Conversion Technologies (HCT) and (9) The 14th World Bioenergy Symposium (WBS)

ISBB 2026 Special Issues Announcements

In collaboration with journals of Bioresource Technology (IF 8.2) and 《中国造纸》（中文核心期刊）编辑部, the authors of high-quality papers from the ISBB 2026 Conference are welcome to  submit articles, extending the presented research, to the following two dedicated Special Issues:

  1. “Bioresources and Biorefinery” Visual Special Issue in Bioresource Technology. Guest Editors: Prof. Chunbao Charles Xu (PolyU); Prof. Zhenglong Li (Zhejiang U); Prof. Shao-Yuan Leu (PolyU); Prof. Keiichi Tomishige (Tohoku U) and Prof. Philip Jessop (Queen’s U). Submission Open Date: January 1, 2027; Submission Due Date: June 30, 2027.

  2. “生物资源与生物炼制” 《中国造纸》主题专刊. 客座主编：徐春保 (香港理工大学)、邹学军（华泰集团）、赵峻（香港浸会大学）. 稿件要求: 所有稿件均为原创且未公开发表的成果，字数8000字左右，主题与专刊方向一致。截稿日期: 2026年11月30日前，通过《中国造纸》投稿平台或邮箱发送至编辑部，并在文章正文合适位置标示：“生物质资源与生物炼制”专刊约稿。
